How to get nail polish out of my tub? Will polish remover take the shine or enamel off?

Enamel is a somewhat generic term that covers many different finishes that give a glossy, almost glassy effect.

In the case of the enamel that is on your tub, the finish is most likely glass baked onto an iron base, and should be very resistant to any solvents such as acetone. If however, you have a fiberglass tub, the surface is a resin and may react to your acetone. If you aren't sure which your tub is (fiberglass is flexy, iron is (obviously) not), test on a small hidden spot first. How to get nail polish out of my tub? Try nail polish remover, 100% acetone. I did it on my tub with a q tip, just becareful.
