Why is clear nail polish so much harder to remove? How can I remove it?

There's most likely a different or more ingredient(s) that make it longer-wearing and less likely to chip off than colored nail polish. With nail polish remover on an old rag, try applying a little pressure and rubbing slightly before wiping off/removing the nail polish.
