That sounds like you have a problem. I have seen cd cleaners that fix scratches on cd, that might work also for nail polish but it would depend on how much of a spot there was. If it is quite large you may not be able to fix it. Nail polish often contains Acetone, which can melt some plastics like cd. One rule of thumb is to never use a petroleum based solvent like Acetone as that will permanently damage the cd surface.
