To see the nail colour, if their is cynosis they can know it and correct it.
while doing surgery the body functions alteres, so artifical functions provided oxygen and other supportives.
To monitor and rule out any problem they need to see the colour of nail bed, colour of skin etcWhy do they make you take nail polish off when you have minor surgery?
Because they put an oxygen sensor on you finger, or they can watch to see if the nail bed turns blue, same as sens er, only low tech.
