Hair dye and nail polish during pregnancy?

So I am 5 weeks and four days pregnant. Its about that time for me to get my highlights re-done. I have heard so many mixed things about whether or not it is safe to get hair colored and have nails painted. Have any of you done this or know anything from personal experience? i think nail polish is fine...you're supposed to wait after the first trimester usually though
I was advised not to dye your hair for the first 12 weeks, after that it's ok, but when I was pregnant I did not take the risk. I was too scared of the though, so I went 9-10 months without dying my hair :-) with nail polish make sure you're in a well ventilated environment.
It's an old myth that you can't color your hair while pregnant. It was thought to be harmful. You can do it, but it isn't recommended when you get into the third trimester.
Well my advice to you is dont die or put relaxer in your hair because it can damage or cause something harmful to the little one in your stomache.Wait til after you give birth, think about getting a different hairstyle.
Man, when I was 5 weeks pregnant with my son I didn't even THINK about it until I got it all in my hair and the smell was overwhealming!! I left it in because I would have had to get it fixed if I didn't anyway. If I were you with the hair dye I would ask them to leave the window open or something so you can get some ventilation. You should be fine, but people do it all the time during pregnancy. And nail polish is fine as long as you aren't drinking it from the bottle, lol.
you are advised to wait until after your first trimester, but after that its fine as long as its a well venelated area. and your nails are fine..you can paint them.

I need to color my hair again and I want to do my nails. Yet I'm too scared. I don't really care what they will say that its safe and it wont harm my child. Its a chemical and chemicals always have their ways of getting into our blood stream that in turn gets to our unborn children.
Okay well I heard that you should wait until after the 1st trimester..which I did...just to because they wouldnt do it at the salon before then. I got my hair dyed every 8 weeks throughout my pregnancy and also my nails done every 2 weeks with my 17 mo. old and with this pregnancy (19 weeks now)
