At what age did you put kids nail polish on your daughter and what brand do you recommend?

My daughter is too young for it now (17 months), but is always interested when she sees me putting it on, now I have to wait till she's in bed to do my nails. At what age did you put kids nail polish on your daughter and what brand do you recommend?
About 2 years or so. Old enough to verbally tell me she wants some. As for brands, it doesn't really matter. But I'd suggest a tiny bottle of nail polish. My 8 year old got a few tiny bottles as a gift and the extra small brush wands inside are perfect for the tiny fingernails of my 3 year old. The normal sized brushes are just hard to use on teeny tiny nails.

In my house, nail polish is a reward for not chewing fingernails. But my girls are almost 4 and 8, so they understand a reward system. At what age did you put kids nail polish on your daughter and what brand do you recommend?
The rule I have with my 4 year old daughter is that we can put it on her toes but not on her fingernails..

As my grandmother used to say

Tramps colour the fingers,

Ladies colour their toes lol
My daughter is 11 and I still don't let her wear it!
my daughter is 16 months old and I have been putting nail polish on her toes but not her fingers. She doesnt put her feet in her mouth so it doesnt hurt her.
my daughter is two and a half and my mother in law paints her toes and fingernails, i don't have a problem with it,i think its cute and she uses regular fingernail polish
my daughter is 21 months old and if she sees me putting nail polish on she has a fit until i do hers. its just nail polish, just use light colors, not like bright red or black ya know...they're little girls, they want to be like their mommies.
i'm 13 n my mum let me put nail polish on when i was 6yrs old
5th grade is a good age to start allowing nail polish and then something clear or skin toned. I think childhood is terribly shortened in todays society and parents are so afraid in (not allowing their kids to do something because that's what's in style) that they rush the kids into acting/looking older then they are. Let them remain kids for as long as you can.
wait til she's in pre school.4.any brand non toxic.look 4 the quick drying ones.
I started doing it for my daughter when she turned 2, it was a bribe to let me clip her fingernails and toenails. I used a really light shade of pink that Cover Girl makes in the express finish polish. She loves it and thinks it's fun! It's a little bonding thing for us to do as well, and that's the best.
polish her toe nails, not fingers-they put their hands in their mouth to much. i have done my daughters since she was six monthes old. she's eighteen monthes now. i also polish my nieces she is ten monthes old. brand does not matter. don't use polish remover, let it wear off.
I started using light or clear color on my step daughter when she was 2, she's now 6. I did talk with our pediatrician before hand. I typically use formulas made for kids which, granted, don't last as long and typically peel off. She also knows that she cannot go to school with the color on or to any special events but it's ok on the weekends. It's just a fun thing the two of us do together.

Also, for 6th grade graduations, I usually take my nieces for a facial. I always find a board licensed dermatologist/makeup artist who can show the girls the proper way to wash their faces, why it's important and (with Mom/Dad's permission) who can show them the proper way to wear makeup as well. My one niece is now in college and just took her niece for her first facial. Kind of a neat tradition in our family. I'll be doing that with my step daughter as well when she's old enough.
I didnt put it on for my girls. They did it themselves. They started experimenting with it at about age 4 or 5 with very girly colors like pink.
I gree definatly not a baby, I just think it looks tacky! But thats just me, I am also one to not like babys ears peirced lol My daughter is 5 years old. I started her on nail polish when she was 3, now she can fully understand about it, and when I go in for my mani/pedi she gets her toes painted! Its something fun we can do together :)
my mom let started letting me wear polish for special occasions when i was about 10. she was a little strict i think. i'd say about 6 for special occasions, regularly in 6th or 7th grade. they also make non toxic polish for children, you could get them at many toy stores.
Not a baby!

Wait until she grows up and can choose to wear it for herself!

They are always curious by what we do, and learn by what we do, how we do it, but be sure to keep out of her reach, curious children copy and then experiment like tasting it, putting in eyes etc...
Its ok U can put it now.Revlon or elle will be fine even if she puts her hand in the mouth.
I actually just paint my lil girls when she starts getting curious. The first time was when she was a year old.As long as your lil one will sit still and not put her hands in her mouth to taste the polish, you should be okay.

We made a big deal out of it. I showed her how to blow on her nails to help them dry. We have only done it a few times, but she loves it!
I painted my daughter's toenails when she was about a year old. All girls should paint their toenails before they wear open-toed shoes in the summer. :-) I wouldn't do fingernails yet, but toes are probably fine.

I don't use a particular brand ~ just pretty colors!

By the way, I also painted my son's toenails (a very neutral beigey color ~ not pink or anything) when he was about 2 1/2. My husband almost had a stroke.
my daughter is 2 and she loves having her finger and toe nails painted. and it looks so cute when she wears sandals. i just buy quick dry polish and taught her to blow on her wet nails. i keep her in the high chair until i know they are dry.
about 17 years old maybe, not 17 months. It looks common and neddy, like babies with earrings, yuk!
It's just nail polish, start now if you want and if she'll hold still long enough for it to dry and not destroy her clothes and the house. It's not like earings at all since you can get an infection from improper care of piercings - not chipped nail polish.
I have always put nail polish on my babies. Trust it wont hurt them. Kids get into all kinds of stuff, alittle nail polish wont kill them or make them sick.
